Close Call

After a week of going undiscovered in a WH system with a notorious pirate corp we finally got discovered. I jumped into a low sec system to see where it went and just by chance ran into one of the pirates returning. I jumped back through the WH but of course he followed me. I was to close to engage the cloaking device immediately and so he got a lock on us. We took a couple of good hits and our shields were down to 1/3 before we were able to warp to safety.

I spent the rest of the day gathering intel on their POS. They must have thought I was going to call in a fleet because these guys started coming out of the woodwork. I ended up with 8 pirates in the system and they took up position at each of the Wormholes exiting the system and a couple of them trying to scan me down. I love our cloaking device.

I decided to leave the system but was afraid if they saw me jump out they'd just follow me. I wrote a message in local that said, "1 tango at POS, is everyone in position.... correction, target clear.... commence attack, watch out for incoming tangos." By doing that I was hoping they would think I had gotten a fleet in and had mistakenly typed into local the go order. Unbelievably it worked like a charm! They abandoned the WH and went to defend their POS from nothing! Dumbasses, I still can't believe they fell for that!

It would be interesting to warp back in and see how long they sit in their POS waiting for an attack. I think I'll just count myself lucky and explore this new system. Hopefully it will prove empty enough to bring in a POS of our own and start making some serious isk.
