Close Call

After a week of going undiscovered in a WH system with a notorious pirate corp we finally got discovered. I jumped into a low sec system to see where it went and just by chance ran into one of the pirates returning. I jumped back through the WH but of course he followed me. I was to close to engage the cloaking device immediately and so he got a lock on us. We took a couple of good hits and our shields were down to 1/3 before we were able to warp to safety.

I spent the rest of the day gathering intel on their POS. They must have thought I was going to call in a fleet because these guys started coming out of the woodwork. I ended up with 8 pirates in the system and they took up position at each of the Wormholes exiting the system and a couple of them trying to scan me down. I love our cloaking device.

I decided to leave the system but was afraid if they saw me jump out they'd just follow me. I wrote a message in local that said, "1 tango at POS, is everyone in position.... correction, target clear.... commence attack, watch out for incoming tangos." By doing that I was hoping they would think I had gotten a fleet in and had mistakenly typed into local the go order. Unbelievably it worked like a charm! They abandoned the WH and went to defend their POS from nothing! Dumbasses, I still can't believe they fell for that!

It would be interesting to warp back in and see how long they sit in their POS waiting for an attack. I think I'll just count myself lucky and explore this new system. Hopefully it will prove empty enough to bring in a POS of our own and start making some serious isk.

Captain's Log - Wormhole Livin'

I now know what is meant by the loneliness of space. We've been exploring a wormhole for almost a week now. Lots and lots of roids out here, the biggest I've ever found.

There's also a pirate POS out here. I've been sitting off their station about 45 - 100K for a lot of the week getting intel on their comings and goings. We stay cloaked unless we're launching probes or taking scanner readings on the belts we find, it's too dangerous not too.

The crew is holding up well but are getting a bit of cabin fever. They are a remarkable crew, the best I've ever had. We pass the time by playing cards when not on duty and organizing pick-up games of an old earth game, basketball. My scanner tech owes me 500 isk and keeps wanting to double or nothing, he's like a lamb to the slaughter.

We're currently looking for an exit hole with some stability, I need to give the crew a short break and pick up my next skill book to start reading while we're out on the next mission. With any luck we'll have a fresh wormhole in an hour or so. If we're really lucky it will be close to HQ!

Captain's Log - Hal Industries

I've made the move over to Hal Industries smoothly. Everything is going well and although we seem to have some new guys they are eager and willing. We led a group out to the POS we established in low sec yesterday and started some low sec mining ops. It went really smoothly and we made it out without any trouble. I and my crew were not as lucky.

I was exploring the system when I found a wormhole to low sec which I decided to explore. I wasn't in system more than 10 minutes before getting ganked by a couple of players and even pod killed. As much as I hate to admit I had it coming. I was so consumed with scanning and looking over the system I didn't notice that we had bumped into the wormhole and our cloak was down. I managed to jump my pod away but was followed and before I could get back to the hole I was waking up in the clone vat.

I'm having my crew reassemble at our new HQ, which of course I can't release here due to security concerns. I have to make some ISK to replace the ship so looks like I'll be mining for a bit.

Lost In Space - Not Anymore!

After looking around the system in the second wormhole am coming back to the original system I sent out several more Maydays. The 5th one I sent out was answered, I found my miracle.

Isuridae answered my call and was kind enough to give me an exit bookmark into lowsec. I salute him, his honor is strong. I suspected a trap, figuring that when I went to pick it up I would get ambushed. You learn to trust no one out here. I kept asking myself, "What would Malcolm Reynolds do?" and it saved my crew, my ship and my ass.

We just left a station where we repaired our armor and other damage and of course I bought the crew a beer, they acted superbly. We're 32 jumps out of Piak in Minmatar Space, but 32 jumps is better than 12,754,345,567!! If I can find my way back to that system and get the mining crew together we'll make a fortune.

Lost In Space - Not Looking Good

Things are not looking good. A server crash took out 4 of our probes and I had to switch to our backup probes. As we were trying to scan down exit holes our backup probes were lost. The probe operator was demoted to janitor.

I've decided that without probes we'll have to get as much intel possible and I will enter into the second wormhole. I've sent out several Mayday calls in local looking for a miracle. I've not seen or heard from anyone since I entered this system. If the other system turns up nothing then I will have to consider self destructing the ship and letting myself and the crew return to our clones.

There has to be a way out of here....

Lost In Space - Day 2

Scanners have found a gas reservoir but of course we don't have the mining capability to harvest it and even if we could, what would we do with it? We also located another wormhole but it led into more unknown space and was very unstable, on verge of collapse. I decided to remain in this system in hopes of finding another way out. Better to be lost in a system we've begun to get used to and explored a bit than starting all over.

If we can find a more stable hole that leads to more unknown space it may be worth it, at least we should be able to get back here. We still have supplies for a month so the crew is not terribly worried at this point. I'm confident we'll be back home within a few days. At least that's what I keep telling myself.

Lost In Space - Day 1

I have scanned down and followed an unstable wormhole in Elunala into unknown space. I was searching for asteroids for our corporation to mine. I found a massive set of asteroids of all types, I've never seen them this size before. As I was exploring the field and letting my corp mates know where I was they hit.

Sleepers. Before I could blink my shields were down to 10% and then failed. As I was aligning and warping back to my entry point they blasted our armor down to 44%, I didn't think we were going to make it. Once at the entry point we found the wormhole had closed behind us and we're trapped.

We'll begin searching for a way out tomorrow, who knows how long we'll be here. Our shields have recovered but without any stations our armor remains at 44%. This comes with the territory but it's still unsettling. The crew remains in good spirits and there are plenty of planets around for us to restock supplies should we be here long enough to need them. I just hope none of our 8 probes fail us, without them we're doomed.

As long as we can avoid detection by the Sleepers we should be able to remain indefinitely.
